German Science Day in Hanoi

Strong German-Vietnamese cooperation on sustainability research: on 30 October 2019, the third German-Vietnamese Science Day took place in Hanoi. Around 200 participants from the academic, private, and public sectors and intermediary organizations presented a wide variety of bilateral projects on sustainability research.

Opening the day, the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Science and Technology (MoST) Mr. Duy, the German ambassador Dr. Hildner, and the Head of Unit in the German Federal Ministry for Education and Reserch (BMBF) Ms. Meyer spoke on cooperation in research with Vietnam.
The presentations about current research projects demonstrated the wide range of topics that are the focus of scientific and application-oriented cooperation. Key areas for research cooperation with Vietnam include the fields of sustainable use of resources and global change, and these topics were represented by numerous projects within the BMBF funding programme “CLIENT II – International Partnerships for Sustainable Innovation”.
The event also offered the participants numerous opportunties for networking.
