In December 2022, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres announced the Climate Ambition Summit in September 2023. The aim of the event is a get-together of the most important politicians of the UN countries and so a push for new, tangible and credible climate action.

The Summit is another part of the 2nd SDG Summit and is expected to take place on 18 September 2023 in New York City, USA.
