The VD-Office for Sustainability Research in Vietnam supports cooperation in science and technology between Vietnam and Germany, especially bilateral projects funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).

For over twenty years there has been a close cooperation in science and technology between Vietnam and Germany. Currently, the main focus is put on water and environmental technologies, resource efficiency, sustainable urbanization, bioeconomy and health research. Sustainable development is becoming increasingly important in German-Vietnamese research cooperation.

The project office for Sustainability Research in Hanoi is promoting the Vietnamese-German cooperation in this field. Besides acompanying ongoing projects, the cooperation between research projects and contacts to stakeholders are encouraged. The office also fosters research proposals and implementation of results.
