The Institute for Biodiversity - Network e.V. is organising a regional training workshop on IPBES for Central Asia in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from 12 to 15 December 2023.

The Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) is an intergovernmental body of the United Nations that assesses the status of biodiversity and ecosystem services on behalf of policy makers.

The aim of the workshop is to familiarise participants from government, academia and civil society with IPBES processes, participation opportunities and products, and to comment on ongoing IPBES assessments. The event is part of the Advisory Assistance Programme of the German Federal Environment Agency.
