CLIENT II projects give input to IPBES workshop in Kyrgyzstan

At a workshop on IPBES in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, the CASIB project office and the SUFACHAIN project presented themselves.

The Institute for Biodiversity - Network e.V. (ibn) held a workshop on the World Biodiversity Council IPBES (Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, in September. As supervisor of the Science-Policy-Interface of CLIENT II, the ibn invited the Central Asia Project Office (CASIB) and the SUFACHAIN project to present themselves. In his function as head of CASIB, Peter Liebelt presented the work of the project office, the funding measure CLIENT II itself and highlighted some projects from the region. He also showed the CLIENT II regional video on Central Asia. Nasyr Kanatbekov presented the work of the SUFACHAIN project on sustainable agroforestry value chains in Central Asia.

Among other things, the workshop covered how scientists can contribute their findings to IPBES status reports and how young scientists can apply to join the IPBES Fellowship Programme.

The ibn will continue to invite CLIENT II projects to present their findings and innovations at further workshops in Central Asia.
