DUB-GEM: Video on legacy radiation

The CLIENT II project DUB-GEM has documented in a new video how the exploration of a uranium waste site in Kyrgyzstan works with the drone-based DUB-GEM system.

The video offers a glimpse into the history of uranium mining and processing in the Kyrgyz city of Mailuu Suu and shows how the city of Mailuu Suu was intertwined with uranium ore mining in Eastern Europe. The legacy of these activities still hinders the city's economic growth. The video also shows how these legacies are to be removed as part of an international concerted effort and how measurements with the drone-based DUB-GEM system can contribute to this effort.

In addition to BGR, the European Commission, the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) were involved in the creation of the video as supporters of the Coordination Group on Uranium Legacy Sites (CGULS).
