CLIENT II projects in Vietnam network at event in Bonn

On 5 March 2020 a number of BMBF-funded projects in Vietnam met up for a networking event in Bonn.

On 5 March 2020 a number of BMBF-funded projects in Vietnam met up for a networking event in Bonn. The event aimed to help participants learn about the other projects in the region, and provide them with an opportunity to exchange views and experiences. It was organised by the regional project office in Vietnam and the U+Ö Institute at the Ruhr University Bochum.

The theme for the event was "Sustainable Regional and Urban Development in Vietnam", and various ongoing projects from the BMBF funding programmes CLIENT II and Sustainable Development of Urban Regions presented their work, including ViWAT and DECIDER. The event opened with speeches by Dr. Gerd Rücker and Dr. Heike Bauer from the project management agency DLR on how to effectively network and implement research findings.

This was followed by keynotes from the CLIENT II accompanying project SPI - represented by Dr. Axel Paulsch - on the importance of transferring knowledge between science and policy, and the regional director of GIZ, Dr. Jasper Abramowski. Afterwards, the participants engaged in a lively discussion about the various possibilities for applying and implementing project results.
